The beginning
A room, a bench,
and one bag.
In 2017, Tatyana moved from Kazakhstan to Spain and rented a single room in the old town of Torrevieja. She had one hide of leather, a set of brass tools, and a drawing of a bag she could not find anywhere else.
The first AltaBags creations were sold to friends, then to friends of friends. There was no advertising campaign, no logo on the front, and no pressure to follow seasonal trends. There was simply a bag that felt right in the hand, crafted with care, and women who shared their discovery with other women.
Eight years later, the philosophy remains unchanged: a carefully selected number of unique pieces, made with passion and attention to detail, and kept in the collection for as long as they deserve their place.

What we hold to
Three rules, followed quietly.

Made by hand
Cut, stitched and finished by hand in our atelier in Guardamar del Segura. A machine can copy a shape, not a hand.

One of a kind
Each piece is made once, in a single example. There is one bag per design, and no second run.

No seasons, only pieces
We do not design for a calendar. A bag stays in our collection for as long as it deserves to be worn.
